Charlene Wright’s practice focuses on regulatory matters and litigation arising from the construction and operation of natural gas, crude oil, refined products and gas liquids pipelines and the transportation and storage of hazardous materials in North America.
Ms. Wright advises clients on complex federal and state laws, agency regulations and industry standards including the U.S. Pipeline Safety Act, Federal Hazardous Materials Transportation law, Occupational Safety and Health Act, Toxic Substances Control Act, the PCB Mega Rule, Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code and National Fire Protection Association Standards.
Ms. Wright assists clients in managing failure investigation and handles complex litigation arising from unplanned releases, fire and ruptures.
She represents clients in compliance, enforcement and permitting matters, including those under the authority of the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), State Corporation Commissions, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, United States Coast Guard, State and Local Liquefied Petroleum Gas Agencies, the National Energy Board of Canada (NEB), and Transport Canada.
She is a regular presenter at industry groups on pipeline safety, environmental compliance, and enforcement topics.
