Mona Haggag is President of ABI Technology, a company specializing in nondestructive, in-situ mechanical property testing for pipelines, nuclear components, and other critical steel assets. Her path to pipeline integrity runs through strategy consulting and market research in the construction industry, human factors engineering, and technology adoption studies for pipeline operators — a background she now applies to a practical challenge: with PHMSA requiring material verification, the question isn’t whether operators need measured properties, but how to make the technology that delivers them more accessible. At ABI, she leads commercialization and product development for Automated Ball Indentation technology, which gives operators quantitative yield and tensile properties from in-service pipe without cutouts or destructive sampling. Her work centers on grade verification under 49 CFR 192.607, fitness-for-service, and remaining-life assessment.
