I’ve worked in just about every job in bolting, from assembler to ASME PCC-1 subcommittee member. I started selling torque wrenches. That led to work leading turnarounds. I’ve been on overnight shifts at refineries in the middle of Kansas winters. By 27, I was VP of Technical Services at a midwestern services company. At the time I thought I was a “bolting expert.”
Today — more than a decade and a half later — I consider myself a “recovering bolting expert.” I went in search of understanding the “why” behind the way bolted joints behave. I worked with many of the best and brightest minds in bolting science, spending hundreds of hours in laboratories and studying data.
I founded Hex Technology to connect the dots. I wanted to take all those brilliant insights from the scientists and present them so that my buddies on the front line would “get it” immediately. We’ve spent the past 8 years refining our training system, serving sites around the world in downstream, midstream and upstream. Today we provide in-person services and digital training options for craft teams around the globe.
