Bio
Stephen Newman is a chartered engineer with 20 years industry experience ranging from conceptual oil and gas development studies through to detailed design and project execution. Stephen graduated from the University of Aberdeen with a First Class Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and began his career performing finite element analysis studies of lateral and upheaval buckles in subsea pipelines. He then went on to work as a consultant working on conceptual, FEED and detailed design studies of new oil and gas field developments.
Since joining Halliburton in 2018 Stephen has worked on several large diameter pipeline pigging projects. Projects have included use of standard Bi-Di pigs, smart isolation pigs and gel injection. Stephen is now Product Champion for Halliburton Pipeline and Process services. In this role, he is focused on developing new cutting edge pipeline technologies with a current focus on the InnerVue non-intrusive pipeline diagnostics system.
